About this app

Dear Self is a private CBT journal: a quiet place to notice an anxious or heavy thought, question it gently, and write your day back into a calmer shape.

It is built on CBT (cognitive behavioral therapy), the same gentle method a therapist might walk you through. Catch a thought, name the pattern underneath it, and offer yourself a kinder, truer one. No streaks to chase, no audience, no noise. Just you and the page.

Two ways to write a page
- Guided journaling: a few unhurried steps through a thought, the way CBT does it.
- Free writing: when you only want to put the day down somewhere.

A gentle rhythm, not a scoreboard
Build small habits and watch a soft streak grow. Miss a day and it softens, it never breaks. Look back over your mood and see how you have really been.

Letters to your future self
Write a letter and seal it until a moment you choose. A little kindness, sent forward in time.

Remembrance, offered and never imposed
If it helps, a short verse or duʿāʾ can sit alongside your writing. Entirely optional, always quiet, turned off any time.

Private by design
Your pages live on your device. No ads, no analytics, no tracking. Nothing is sold, nothing is watched. Optional cloud backup is end-to-end encrypted, so only you hold the key and we can never read your pages. Lock the app behind your face or fingerprint if you like.

Dear Self is free, with nothing to sell. Whether you are here for journaling, mood tracking, easing anxious thoughts, building a gratitude habit, or simply a private diary to think things through, it gives you a calm space to return to. Take a breath. Your first page is waiting whenever you are.
