ZipPass is a convenient way to buy and use bus passes, but it has a couple of frustrating drawbacks. The pass isn’t very noticeable to bus drivers—I have to tap it to show it’s active, which slows things down. Also, you can’t buy passes for other cities like Roseville, making travel between systems inconvenient. Despite these issues, it gets the job done for everyday transit.

Bought a Basic Fair ticket on the app and received my receipt/proof of purchase through my email. When I go and try to retrieve/activate the ticket, it says I still need to buy a ticket before it can be added to the activation folder. It's been over a week and still nothing; lost money using this app. Beware: seems like this happened to others as well.

Trying to buy a ticket and got a communication error saying the purchase couldn't be completed. Tried to reconnect to complete the purchase because I needed the ticket. Gave up after three retries. Found Four tickets in my ticket wallet! I only needed to buy one and only need at most two for today and the foreseeable future, and from other reviews saying how easy it is to lose tickets I'm probably never going to get to use the other two. Very disappointing.
