Ever since the last update the app constantly runs in the background and is constantly attempting to sync. An icon shows up un the notification bar that says "synching emails" but it does not go away. I've been able to get the notification to go away by toggling the "sync email notifications" off and back on in the notification channel settings. The notification comes back within hours and the app is still constantly running in the background no matter what I do. Battery drains, phone is hot.

Generally before the last update it was a great app. Had all the features I needed. But with this last update after you leave the app it continues to run in the background and it never did that prior to the update. I'll wake up the next day only to find that this app has been running for 8hrs in the background and there's no setting to turn it off.

Lots of people have been complaining about the synchronization notification for the past few days and it seems that, for some reason, Samsung has decided to double down on this annoyance by not only not fixing it in the latest update, but claiming it as a "feature" of the update that went out. The latest patch notes include "Added user notification mark for background synchronization process according to Android sync policy." Thus showing Samsung is not going to fix this.
