Saraya 5 Moments — Hand Hygiene Monitoring

Saraya 5 Moments is a professional observation tool that helps infection
prevention teams, observers, and administrators measure and improve hand
hygiene compliance based on the WHO "My 5 Moments for Hand Hygiene" framework.

Designed for real clinical environments, the app lets trained observers quietly
record hand hygiene opportunities at the bedside, calculate compliance rates,
and turn everyday observations into useful data, all from a phone.

THE WHO 5 MOMENTS
Capture every hand hygiene opportunity across the five recognised moments of
care:
1. Before touching a patient
2. Before a clean or aseptic procedure
3. After body fluid exposure risk
4. After touching a patient
5. After touching patient surroundings

A PURPOSE BUILT OBSERVER WORKFLOW
- Start a session by selecting the ward, department, and profession being
observed
- Record each opportunity in seconds. Choose the moment or moments, the action
taken (hand wash, hand disinfection, gloves, or no hand hygiene), and flag
insufficient technique
- Add optional notes for context
- Complete the session and move on, typically 30 opportunities per session

COMPLIANCE YOU CAN ACT ON
The app automatically calculates compliance rates from your observations,
giving infection prevention teams a clear and consistent measure of hand
hygiene performance across wards and professions.

WORKS OFFLINE
Hospitals are not always connected. Record observations offline and the app
syncs your sessions automatically when a connection is available, so data
collection never stops.
