Smart-ID is the easiest, most convenient and safest way to authenticate yourself online – check your online bank account, access e-services and confirm transactions.

Smart-ID allows you to give signatures equal to handwritten signatures (except Basic level), which complies with EU regulations about qualified electronic signatures.

The app is used for key management: it creates your private keys while account registration and later mediates authentication and signature requests. Created an account without issues, and have been using it ever since - the majority of online services in Estonia support this app as a login method. Its very fast and convenient. After 2 years of using the app, it had never failed me, did not have any issues so far. Keep in mind that if you have Blokada or something similar, it will block app notifications, so you would need to whitelist the domain that Smart-ID uses.

Can't scan the face properly. Had to redo registration multiple times even when I have used the app earlier. after a few unsuccessful attempts they just block my document for 24 hours. it is not a first. Had similar issues years ago. Complete waste of time

this app is broken for some while now without a fix. It won't pop up when a confirmation is required. And when you open it manually and confirm your code with pin the session on the requesting app gets nullified and so you can't even authenticate =/
