Two tuning modes
- Instrument mode shows the target notes for your chosen tuning (for example EADGBE for standard guitar, DADGBE for drop-D, GDAE for violin). Play a string; Pitched tells you if it's in tune.
- Chromatic mode shows the nearest note to whatever you play — perfect for pianos, alternate tunings, or anything unusual.

Works very well, but you should always have a backup app or tuner, because sometimes, one will fail, and you will have the other. I used this for all of my concerts during high school, and it was very reliable. The only issues have been the mics on my phone picking up sound that nobody else can hear, from some electrical equipment backstage.

I was looking for a "pitch pipe" so I could know the key to any song I may hear and want to sing. I haven't read all the reviews on this app, but every one of them that praise the app is absolutely correct! It has a tuner and a pitch pipe, and it works great. I ran the app, then opened an Mp3 file. I tap the note options until I find the right key! This is definitely the best Tuner/Tone app I've found and "didn't" uninstall. It works so great that I paid the $4.99 Upgrade. Well worth it!

A good app for what it does, but could be a real standout with one simple tweak. What this app does: One view allows you to play a selected note. The other view is a frequency needle, useful for tuning instruments or checking my singing pitch for a particular note. But the needle display could easily be much better. As it is, the needle's display range is narrow, so it jumps around too much to follow a whole song. It would be better as an octave wheel capable of following notes of a whole song.
