Ad-Memoire is now also available for individuals with Ad-Memoire ‘One-to-One’.
History of Advertising Trust (HAT) is an educational charity established in 1976 to preserve the heritage of the UK ad industry and make it accessible to all for study and research. Subsequently HAT is the largest archive of British advertising in the world, holding over 5 million items in its collections, which range in date from 1800s-present.
HAT's Ad-Memoire resource provides care homes with access to themed reels of some of the UK's best loved vintage TV commercials (1950s-1960s), which have been carefully preserved in the archive. Many of the ads in the reels are fondly remembered by care home residents and the resource is a great tool for supporting reminiscence and activity sessions, or even just as a form of entertainment. Ad-Memoire can be used one to one on a small screen (phone/tablet) or in group sessions, via Google Chromecast/Apple TV.
Access to Ad-Memoire is by monthly subscription and as a charity all funds generated go towards the maintenance and development of the resource, the preservation of the archive material in HAT’s care and the support of HAT’s educational aims.
For further information and details on how to access the resource please contact enquiries@hatads.org.uk stating the name of your care home and the number of homes you operate.
