This app has a very low score as the children don't like it. The intent of the app is to allow parents to protect their children, for this it works very well. There are some issues, which you can raise at the Norton support forums which leave some holes in protection, but overall it gives the visability and protection that, as a parent, you want to ensure that your children are safe. Well done Norton!
As an Android user, I can say be aware that this app blocks your settings, text, and phone. I don't know if it's the same for apple, but in the case of an emergency (you're alone lost in the woods at night, get kid napped when you're home alone, etc), something really bad could happen. But they don't care because they get the MONEY.
For starters, it's pretty easy to get around, and I'm pretty sure it gave my phone a virus. Second, the inability to text my emergency contacts is not great. My phone hadn't been acting up until my dad had this app installed. Also, I'm in high school, and there are a lot of situations that might come up in which I need to contact someone, but calling isn't an option. I also can't visit certain websites that could be really helpful (YWCA, an organization that helps victims of sexual assault, is under one of my blocked websites).
I am 13 years old and I have a girlfriend. This app let's me use my phone but limits my use. Its annoying at times but over all it's not such a big deal. I feel like some teens. Like me have to adjust. Some completely overreact. I think if just kind of accept it. It works. But I will say that it feels like my parents are watching me.
I've been trying this out with my kids for the past week and it just doesn't work. I know that my kids are browsing the internet and sending text message yet it the activity shows that there isn't any. I've sent texts to my kids and they don't come in as activity. I don't remember what article I read saying that this was the best app for tracking kids but it was way wrong. Ironic that a softer from Symantec doesn't over do it. Not worth $50 a year for sure.
It's the worst app out there and it blocks my school website so I can't even do my homework. Thanks guys
