**DiskStation Manager 7.0 or above version with Synology Secure SignIn service enabled is required.**

Synology Secure SignIn increases account security and offers two verification methods: Approve sign-in and verification code (OTP). Approve sign-in can be used to replace DSM password. For enhanced protection, use either method as the second sign-in step of 2-factor authentication.

This app is alright. It randomly signs out for no reason and changing devices is a pain. My favorite is when you're trying to sign into a phone app, like Synology Photos, and the approval window appears over the number you need to match it with. so if you can't remember that number you have to back out and look at it again. A minor annoyance.

Incredibly difficult to add a new account, going round in circles and in a chicken-and-egg situation. Had to request an emergency code via email. Even now that my account for my NAS has been added, it just says that I've approved a login successfully but then doesn't log me into the device. been trying for over an hour now to log into my NAS that I can see and touch but can't log into. Thinking of going back to a QNAP...

The Synology server asks me to confirm a number on this app, but the app never shows the number. I asked for an emergency string of numerals, it came via email but the numerals entered (via copy/paste) did not work. I'm going back to a password.
