About this app

Tailwind Launcher is a fast, clean home screen, properly customisable from the start. No ads, no account, no feed.

HOME SCREEN
• Loop home screens — swipe past the last page and the first comes back around.
• Set the grid to anything from 2 to 10 rows and columns, and size icons separately.
• Place icons on half-cell offsets for layouts the standard grid can't reach.
• Hide app and folder labels for a cleaner look.
• Rename any app icon on the home screen or the dock.
• Reorder home screens by dragging, and keep work-profile pages hidden until you want them.
• Sort a folder A–Z, or fill it from a checklist instead of dragging icons in one at a time.

APP DRAWER
• A Material 3 Expressive drawer with frosted-glass blur, recoloured from your wallpaper as one surface.
• Drawer home: open the drawer to New, Recent and Most used apps, your next two calendar events, and your recent searches — or swipe straight through to the A–Z list.
• The drawer opens ready to type, so finding an app is one gesture instead of two.
• Keep folders on their own tab, or show them in the app list — at the top by default, or sorted in alphabetically — so the list gets shorter rather than longer.
• Archive a drawer folder you don't need right now, and bring it back later.
• Give the drawer its own grid size, independent of the home screen.

SEARCH THAT ISN'T JUST APPS
• Fuzzy app matching, so a typo or a half-remembered name still finds the app.
• Inline answers for arithmetic, unit conversion and relative dates ("3 months from now").
• Contacts, and upcoming events from whichever calendars you choose — one row per event, even when the same meeting is on several calendars.
• Event rows carry Directions and Join buttons when the event has a place or a video-meeting link.
• Search another service without retyping: YouTube, Gemini, Amazon and more, or type a short prefix like "yt otters" to route the query in one gesture.
• Web search suggestions as you type.

GESTURES
Bind six home-screen swipes — up and down with one, two or three fingers — to opening the app drawer, launching a specific app, or a system action: the notification shade, quick settings, lock screen, recent apps, the power dialog or a screenshot.

WIDGETS
Two recent-apps widgets: a resizeable grid of recently launched apps, and a 1×1 tile that shows the same recents as a folder.

BACKUP AND RESTORE
Export your whole setup — every setting plus the full home-screen layout, page order, folders, widgets and dock — to a single file, and restore it here or on a new device.

PRIVACY
No ads, no account, no data sold. Crash and stability reporting is opt-in and defaults to off; you are asked once during setup and can change it any time in Settings → Privacy.

ACCESSIBILITY API DISCLOSURE
Tailwind Launcher uses the Android AccessibilityService API to perform system actions that you assign to home screen swipe gestures: lock the screen, show recent apps, open the power dialog, and take a screenshot. It is also used as a fallback for opening the notification shade and quick settings when the standard route is unavailable on your device.

This service is optional and off by default. You must turn it on yourself in Android's Settings, and the launcher explains why before sending you there. Gestures that do not need it work without it.

The service requests no accessibility events and cannot retrieve window content. It does not observe your activity, cannot read the contents of any screen, and collects, stores or shares no personal or sensitive user data. Its only function is to perform the action you assigned to a gesture.

Open source licences are listed in Settings → About.

What’s new

The app drawer now pages sideways: swipe left from drawer home to reach the full A-Z app list, swipe right to come back, with the search box staying put throughout. The same gesture also pages between A-Z's own tabs (Personal, Work, Folders). Both lists remember their scroll position across the round trip.
