The ability to bolus from your smartphone requires the latest t:slim X2 insulin pump software.

Give yourself the freedom to more easily manage your diabetes with the t:slim X2 insulin pump and t:connect mobile app.

The t:slim X2 insulin pump with Control-IQ technology helps protect you from highs and lows by automatically adjusting insulin levels to increase your sensor time in range* (70-180 mg/dL). Plus, through the free t:connect mobile app, the system connects wirelessly with a smartphone, giving you the freedom to bolus without having to touch your pump.†

By directly uploading pump and therapy data through the mobile app to the cloud-based t:connect web application, the system eliminates the need to plug in your pump during visits with your healthcare provider.

Healthcare providers can help their patients achieve better outcomes by providing them with a better choice for diabetes management and kids and parents have the freedom to more easily manage diabetes.

The updated t:connect mobile app frees you to bolus from your compatible smartphone without touching your t:slim X2 insulin pump. That increased flexibility means you can choose to wear your pump in more places by decreasing how often you need to interact with it. This feature is available for Control-IQ technology and Basal-IQ technology.

Conveniently view your t:slim X2 insulin pump data, including basal and bolus insulin events, insulin on board, carbs, current settings, and both pump and sensor status directly on your smartphone with the t:connect mobile app.

For parents, that means no more hunting through blankets and sheets to find a pump in the middle of the night.

Plus, serving as a discreet, secondary display for your t:slim X2 insulin pump, the t:connect mobile app allows you to stay informed of your diabetes management from the convenience of your smartphone. This is a great option for kids and teens who may be reluctant to take out their pump at school or in public. They can use their smartphone as a secondary display to discreetly view all of their information using the t:connect mobile app.

The t:connect mobile app lets you view alerts from your t:slim X2 pump as push notifications on your smartphone, conveniently prompting you to interact with your pump at a time that works for you.

You can also wirelessly upload your t:slim X2 insulin pump and therapy data to the cloud-based t:connect web application and allow your authorized healthcare providers easy online access to your current data at their convenience.

† Bolus delivery from the t:connect mobile app requires a compatible smartphone model and operating system, an app update, a software update on the customer’s t:slim X2 insulin pump and additional training. Only available to customers who reside in the United States and who are in warranty at the time they update their pump.

Except for mobile bolus delivery, treatment decisions must be based only on the pump screen, not the t:connect mobile app. Wireless uploads from the t:connect mobile app to the cloud-based t:connect web application require a compatible smartphone and a cellular or Wi-Fi data connection. Uploads to the t:connect web application do not take place in real time and should not be relied upon by healthcare providers or caregivers for remote patient monitoring. Standard carrier data rates may apply.

When it works it's great, but like the other reviews have stated the daily Bluetooth errors and constant re-pairing with the phone are a big disappointment. At this point it's not worth the frustration and I have quit using it. Also, if the connection issues ever get resolved it would be great to be able to clear alarms and have complete control the pump through the app. Quicker reaction to OS updates would also be nice. Postponing updates for weeks at a time to keep app compatibility is a pain.

I waited a long time for the app to be compatible with my phone. I was elated when it finally was. Then two weeks later my Android OS was updated and the bolus feature was gone in the app. Tandem really needs to work on this so that incremental OS updates won't disable the bolus feature. Otherwise what is the point of having the app? I think the Bluetooth connectivity issue lies with the X2 itself. Hopefully Tandem will have that fixed with the X3. For now the app is not very useful for me.

The app is great! It has every feature your pump has with the convenience of being on your phone and the added security of facial recognition and biometrics. The part that really makes the app worthless is when your phone needs an update or you need a new phone, forget about it! They're so behind on getting cleared for these new devices and updates, it makes the unnecessary convenience look hideously unattractive! It doesn't even make sense. Updates don't just interfere with app functions.

Every device must be tested individually to ensure a consistent and secure connection can be established between the t:slim X2 insulin pump and the smartphone. Smartphone devices that are not compatible with the t:connect mobile app failed our qualification tests. Please know, we are working diligently to continue to test all makes and models.
