About this app

At midnight on Halloween an old silver pocket watch lies open on a grave slab among dry leaves. Inside its lid is a faded photograph of an empty room. Once an hour, someone is standing in it.

A real pocket-watch dial
- White porcelain with fine cracks, Arabic numerals 1 to 12 and a full track of sixty minute marks, a red dot at each hour.
- Gold Breguet hour and minute hands, their tips glowing in the colour you choose, and small seconds ticking in their own subdial at six.
- A window with the day and date, and the time in engraved numerals in the cartouche; the hour follows your watch's 12- or 24-hour setting.
- Choose hands and numerals, hands only, or large engraved numerals only.

Your information is on the dial
Your steps are on the left subdial, your battery on the right one, with a needle that points to the charge, and your unread notifications in the window under twelve.

What moves
- Each minute frost creeps over the crystal and melts, and the minute hand jumps with a small shudder.
- On the hour the watch chimes and jolts on the stone, and a pale figure slowly appears in the old photograph and fades.
- Tap the lower dial and a black beetle scuttles across the crystal.
- On Halloween night, from 6 pm to 6 am, the figure appears every quarter hour; from midnight to one frost covers the crystal, the hands glow blood-red, and time halts for a moment at every minute.
- In always-on mode the watch goes dark with its numerals and marks in dim grey; only the hands or the numerals, the date, your steps and your battery stay lit, to save power.

Make it yours
- Time: hands and numerals, hands only, or numerals only.
- Frost: ice blue, ghost green, candle gold or blood red, for the frost and the hands' glow.
- Seconds hand: on by default; switch it off to save a little battery.
- Beetle on waking: a beetle runs across the dial each time your watch wakes (off by default).
- Three complications on the subdials and the window: steps, battery and unread notifications by default. Choose other data for any of them in the watch face editor.
