About this game

Dots and boxes is the pencil-and-paper game you played in school. Draw a line
between two dots. Close a box and you get another turn. The player with the
most boxes at the end wins. Play against a friend on one phone, or against the
computer. It works offline.

EVERY LINE IS DRAWN BY HAND
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

• Slide your finger to a line and lift to draw it. Until you lift, you can
slide to a different line.
• Each line looks drawn with a real pen: a little curved, thin at the start,
thicker in the middle.
• When you win a box, your mark is drawn inside it in your own pen.

THREE COMPUTER OPPONENTS

Each one tells you how it plays before you pick it:

• EASY takes free boxes, and gives some away.
• MEDIUM never gives a box away while it has a safe line.
• HARD counts chains, and will refuse boxes to keep control. It gives up two
boxes to win the rest. That is how close games are won.

The computer plays by the same rules you do. It also plays the same way every
time: the same board always gets the same move, so you can learn from it.

• Seven board sizes, from a quick 3 × 3 to a long 9 × 9.
• Four papers: napkin, exercise book, graph paper, blueprint.
• Five marks for each player: a scribble, a round seal, a square seal, a cat
and a robot. Up to six pen colors, so you can tell your boxes from theirs.
• Choose who starts, or take turns.

• Works offline: on a plane, in a tunnel, on the bus.
