StepUp step counter has a simple, intuitive design. And most importantly no ugly ads, unlike other free pedometer apps. It is an elegant step tracker app to help you step up.

StepUp step tracker uses Google Fit to count your steps as you walk with your phone in your hand, pocket or bag.
This stepsapp works entirely from your phone. No fitness trackers are required, but you can use them with StepUp too.

Google Fit tracks your activity in the background efficiently. Step Up step counter does NOT use your location, and so it has not impact on battery.

You can also sync from Google Fit supported wearable pedometers and fitness/step trackers like Fitbit, Android Wear devices, Xiaomi, MiBand, Moto 360, Garmin, Withings and many more to Step Up step counter app.
Similar to Stridekick, MoveSpring, StepsApp & Pacer, but free, simple and more fun!

StepUp step counter tracks walking, hiking, jogging or running. Step up to a healthy, active lifestyle. And help your friends step up too, on StepUp Pedometer app!

Really like this app - only because I can compete against my friends. Yet some days I can't see my friends steps at all! Very frustrating. It's what motivates me the most, so I keep it. This time as of today, I can't see my friends steps, but one can see mine. It's either a Facebook or Stepup issue. Especially love there are NO ads. Steps seem to be accurate most of the time. Sometimes in the mornings, I have restart my Android phone to get the steps going, as it hasn't woken up yet.

StepUp is particularly attractive in that it can function unobtrusively in the background. No ads. All I need it to do is help me maintain my daily goal of 4500 steps, and keep an ongoing record. The social media connections need not be activated (although a Google account is required for initial setup), which suits me fine. The app seems well-calibrated, and rarely over/undercounts.

Solid 3. It lacks features I'd like to see, seems a little clunky, and requires me to constantly log back in, etc. It also crashes frequently. But I've gotten a few friends on here and it's fun to compare steps (when their app is working). It seems like it likes to log them out after a couple days if they aren't loading their app daily. Needs work, but neat concept.

Sorry about the trouble with logging out. Are you seeing the "Connect Google Account" pop up? Or are are you getting completely signed out of the app? We're trying to fix this issue. Would you be open to trying a test build with fixes to verify that it's working as expected? If yes, can you email us on
