I really liked this app until recently. Now I have to turn it on manually. I think I'll be uninstalling the app. My dad's phone switched to the manual on/off last week and he deleted the app. It was soooooooo much better when it was always running in the background. I have S Health that does that for me but my dad has an iPhone and he's 75. Neither of us want to restart an app every time we stop or start. When we walk at a wildlife preserve we may stop for a few minutes to look at an animal. Only to find out that it had said off. Not worth the hassle
Handy little app that tracks my walking even when I'm not connected to WiFi (I have no phone service, and am completely dependent on WiFi). The battery saver feature is excellent- - tracking is very accurate even though I use the extreme battery saving option. The only thing that's not a fit for me is that I'm on a plan to gain weight, not lose it, and the app wasn't quite sure how to handle that, LOL.
I tried three or four other of the popular fitness apps and didn't like any of them. Pacer does everything that I need and has a fantastic GPS feature that you can turn on and turn off so as to save your batteries when you're not using the GPS. Even when it's turned off it counts your steps so when you turn it back on you know how many steps you took. One of the other things I like most about it is that it doesn't require access to all of your information like so many of the other fitness apps.
I am very new to doing something of this nature! I haven't been able to walk and ride stationary bikes for years due to accident and surgeries. So far this has been an excellent start to see how far I can walk and to help me pace myself. I am already amazed at how far I can walk without getting out of breath or having to stop for a break. I hope to gain insight from some people along the way, any encouraging words or prayers would be appreciated. Thank you in advance.
Its disappointing because it was not really helpful for people who set a certain goal n perform running/jogging since the footsteps counting is based on an average and not taken accurate. Also, dates need to be selected always to view our history. Instead it can be scrollable for easy access. Also, i lost my history when i reinstalled it today. This is not fair... Very disappointed and i lost trust on this app now😡
I've found this app to be highly inaccurate when it comes to counting steps. It doesn't count your individual steps; it seems to try and average your steps based on distance moved, which isn't helpful when you walk a great deal in a small area or in short increments ( ex: my job ). Invest in a FitBit.
