I prefer using this over the national rail app but it has one very frustrating flaw. When selecting the time you cannot choose the current time. There needs to be a button to just select 'now' for the time of travel
App is fine. Make station staff aware of it though please. Got passed around 3 staff members twice before i was allowed onto platform. Very nearly missed train at Templemeads due to this. Major stress and had to run for train even though turned up 15 minutes early. Won't use this again.
Great app! As a regular commuter across various networks this app is a godsend. The payment mechanism is also brilliant- with national rail, ticket collection is 2 hs after you've booked, with this it is instant. I've been on the Tube before and booked a ticket in about 1 minute (before the signal went!), and 25 mins later the ticket was ready for collection at my station. Can't ask for better really. Well done developers. Some reviewers here are saying about not being able to reserve seats, or still having to use paper tickets. Unfortunately this isn't the Trainline's issue. Some providers will not provide reserved seating (e.g SWTrains I assume because they are commuter lines), and the train companies dictate a physical ticket is needed for travel or email confirmation. I haven't seen the advert to know if they claim you can go paperless, but usually you need the physical ticket.
This app works... Until it doesn't, then it is outstandingly bad. Contains so many bugs. Doesn't accept payment (from PayPal or any of my three cards), then worst of all contains hidden costs. A waste of time, just booked direct through the train companies.
App provides an option to buy for "tomorrow." Tomorrow is relative to your location. I purchased invalid tickets because app wasn't location aware. Be careful.
Was in a hurry to catch a train and tried saved time by buying a ticket through this app. I've got a minute to catch this train, i try to quickly open the app and show my ticket at the barrier when the app starts pestering me for reviews, and asking if I'm sure or not. Well because of that I missed my train and here's my review. Think twice when to bother users with pop-ups
This update is mostly about small fixes (users outside of the EU, time zones are no longer your enemy!).
…but it's also about a new super-secret travel option. It's all a bit hush-hush right now, so we can't tell you much, but we're going to start opening up a new form of travel for a small percentage of you – gradually releasing it to everyone over time.
