About this app

Resolution & DPI Changer helps you inspect and adjust Android's logical screen resolution and display density. It is built for careful display testing, custom layouts, readability experiments, and advanced Android workflows.

Understand the current display

See the logical width, height, and density Android is using before you change anything. The app keeps resolution, density, and physical screen characteristics separate so you know what a setting can and cannot change.

Test before you apply

Use a timed test to preview a resolution or DPI change. The previous display configuration is recorded and restored automatically when the test ends. If a value makes the interface difficult to use, recovery guidance and reset actions remain available.

Choose the setup route your device supports

Android restricts system-level display overrides. Depending on your Android version and device, the app can guide you through a supported route such as Shizuku, Wireless Debugging, a one-time computer permission grant, or root. Setup availability varies by manufacturer and software version.

Optional AccessibilityService helper

If you choose Automatic setup, Resolution & DPI Changer asks you to enable the optional Resolution setup helper, which uses Android's AccessibilityService API. After you review the in-app disclosure and agree, the helper can view and interact only with visible Developer options and Wireless debugging screens in Android Settings. It reads Settings text and controls, the temporary six-digit pairing code, and local connection addresses and ports so it can turn on Wireless debugging, open the pairing screen, tap the required controls, pair the app with Wireless ADB on the same phone, grant display-control permission, and turn Wireless debugging and the helper off after setup.

The pairing code and other Settings screen content are processed only on your device and discarded after setup. A local Wireless ADB endpoint may remain stored on the device for reconnection. Nothing read by the helper is sent to us, shared with third parties, or used for ads or analytics. Automatic setup is optional: you can decline and use manual setup, and you can disable the helper at any time in Android Accessibility settings.

Important limitations

This app changes logical display overrides. It cannot add physical pixels, increase the panel's native PPI, improve touch sampling, or guarantee better gaming performance. Some apps and manufacturer interfaces may not support every display configuration. Extreme values can make controls too large, too small, or difficult to reach.

Record your original values, use the timed test first, and confirm that important apps remain usable before keeping a change.

it's work on one UI 8

Works as name says, but with root for me. I'm not getting why developer has published many apps doing tricks with display and not single app with all functionality.

you can test it out before set it. select the resolution and DPI and hit test see if it works, it revert back to original in 15 seconds in case it makes the screen unusable. good job 👍 without root it doesn't work
