No book information nor volume control Book descriptions rarely have series information as in other apps of this nature, so you don't know if you're getting the first or fourth in a series unless you can clearly read it on the cover (which is not very often). Nor can you even search by the series title. No volume boost while listening to audio. App will also randomly stop playing, and don't save the place of whatever it stopped.
Keeps interrupting playback. Begins playing fine then without warning will stop the play back and loose where it is in the current chapter without warning or reason. Also lacks sleep timer and interface is a bland white. I was forced to switch phone apps because my library switched services. If that were not the case I would use Overdrive Every. Single. Time.
Basic This is a very basic ereader. There's a dictionary to download if you want to look up a word, but it's a weird two-step download process on my android device. The single font can be made smaller or bigger. But don't expect a full-featured reader. One big issue for me is that it always starts up with its splash screen, then a selection of books, forcing you to access the menu for My Books. Then you must select the book you are currently reading. Only then does it take you to the place you left off.
Very limited. It's main functionality is good. I've had to lower my rating. In the last month the book choices have become even more limited. It's tiresome looking for books in a series to find they only have a title in the middle of the series. It's made me miss Overdrive, even with all its search engine problems.
Disappointed I miss overdrive. Too many steps to go through just to get back to where you left off. I wish I could adjust screen to softer setting - grey or sepia - and select a better font for my vision needs. I love the accessibility, but might take the time, and loss, and search for books in overdrive.
Needs easier pausing functionality! Good for audiobooks. Would give it more stars, but it bugs me that there isn't a pause button in the notification bar. Also, would be nice if pausing through my Bluetooth headphones worked too.
This release resolves a crash some audiobook users experienced when accessing My Books.
If you are experiencing an issue with playing an audiobook, please log out and log back in to your library account (tap “Settings”, scroll to the bottom and tap “Logout”). This will force a re-download of your audiobook(s) and should resolve the issue. Note: Using the new audio streaming feature should allow you to resume playing your audiobook immediately while it is re-downloading.
