About this app

PDF Reader & Viewer opens your documents in a second and then gets out of the way. No account, no upload, no waiting screen — just the page you wanted.

It is built for the PDFs that actually pile up on a phone: lecture notes, scanned invoices, boarding passes, manuals, eBooks, government forms. Files stay on your device. Nothing is uploaded, and there is no sign-in to forget.

WHY PEOPLE KEEP IT INSTALLED

• Opens instantly — pages render as you scroll, not after a spinner
• Works completely offline — airplane mode changes nothing
• True night mode — the page itself inverts, it is not a filter laid on top
• Page thumbnails — jump to page 84 of a report without scrolling through 83
• Search inside the file — every match highlighted in place
• Bookmarks — pin a page in any document and return to it in one tap
• Annotate — pen, highlighter and eraser on any page, saved to the document
• Read aloud — text PDFs read page by page while the page follows along
• Auto-scroll — hands-free reading at 5, 10, 20 or 30 seconds per page
• Volume-key paging, keep-screen-on and an app lock for private files

BUILT TO STAY LIGHT

Small download, no background services, no analytics on what you open. The library is a local database; the only data that leaves the phone is what Google needs to serve an ad or process a purchase.

PRIVATE BY DEFAULT

• No account, no email, no sign-up
• Files are read on the device and never uploaded
• Library, bookmarks and reading positions stay in the app's private storage
• Delete the app and the app's data goes with it

PDF READER PRO

One purchase, no subscription:
• Removes ads
• Auto-scroll with a speed picker
• Read aloud for text PDFs
• Supports development of a small, independent app

Everything else — reading, night mode, search, bookmarks, annotations, thumbnails — is free.

PERMISSIONS, IN PLAIN ENGLISH

• All files access: needed to list the PDFs already on your storage. You can also skip it and open a single file through the system picker instead.
• Internet: used only for ads and Google Play billing.

SUPPORT

Questions, bugs or a PDF that will not open: [e-mail]. Telling us the Android version and the file size helps a lot.

What’s new

Reading is more reliable: fixed pages that could stay blank on some documents after a quick scroll or a return to the app.
Sharper text, faster page turns, and a new app icon.
