A very easy way to manage your device and stored shows. Initial connection is still very slow and frequently needs a full login with no details cached, making it even slower. Would be good if the start screen was more configurable i.e. your own favourite channels, rather than just Popular, Sport etc. Also, this gets my local channels set to the wrong part of the country, despite VM knowing where I live!
Got the HTC flagship HTC 10 and app now unable to stream..... For a cable company like virgin that can't keep up with latest phones is frankly embarrassing. Still no support for HTC 10 as of 11/03/2017 checked via link here but surprisingly it's broken so I can't even check if it's finally been added. Will delete this app and use my wife's sky go app it works much better than it's pile of w**k.
Despite the comments below, and speaking directly to the TV anywhere support team this bug still exists. Seems Virgin just dont care about the quality of their apps. Just tried to use the remote on this to stop playing a show, but some bright spark decided stop isn't needed. This is the latest version as in no longer shows you a picture of the remote like the previous version did. Don't mind you adding new features, but you need to get keep basics that used to work.
Visual nicely designed app. Needs to include ability to stream from 3G/4G and be able to watch recorded shows from anywhere of any network type. Can you stream all the channels and not just a select few. Would be 0 stars if it were possible until it works on 3G/4G and why can i not stream record programs when the tivo is on the same network as the device i want to watch the recording on. App is worse then ever if it's not error 500 it's box not found and no chromecast support. New look is nice but still...
The constant need to re-enter my login details at least once a day (Wi-Fi or 4G, doesn't matter) is frustrating enough. Then there's the issue that I can't stream the 'streamable' channels while on 4G. It's "Virgin TV Anywhere" not "Virgin TV Wi-Fi Only" Although I would say this version looks a lot slicker than the previous one. The two issues mentioned are my pain points. Seems to have gotten worse in the last few weeks. Constant need to re-enter my login details.
This app works great for me. The ONLY issue I have is the fact it can't stream over mobile networks! Please address the following - If this is a licensing/rights issue why can other services (SkyGo) stream via mobile data? You say in previous replies that mobile data streaming is something you hope to bring in the future. WHEN will this be? (I pay nearly £100 a month for my VM services and have been able to stream via SkyGo for YEARS !!! )
