About this app

Much has already been written and said about exercise for the elderly (but also adults). Consider the following:

– Exercise is good, more exercise is better.
– Do at least 150 minutes a week of moderate intensity exercise, spread over several days. Longer, more frequent and/or more intensive exercise provides additional health benefits.
– Do muscle and bone strengthening activities at least twice a week, combined with balance exercises for the elderly.
– And: avoid sitting still a lot.

With the walkintheparq app and videos we want to support achieving these goals in a fun way. Namely by placing posts with QR codes on the walking routes in your village, city or care institution. These can eventually be scanned with the app and this will retrieve an exercise that can be performed. Through some logic in the app, the videos alternate and the videos are also shown based on your capabilities. In principle, the exercises will be much the same, but the rendering is actually tailored to your situation and possibilities.
