Spectacularly smart idea. In terms of mundane but important things like finding each other--great. In terms of worldwide use, in areas without address schemes (developing nations, nature, etc.), it makes a simple way to remember and communicate about a place. Consider emergency response, for just one example. The implications are huge. One can't remember a pair of 6 or 8 digit lat & long coordinates, but this is readily rememberable and shareable. Impressive.
This held such promise, but it's broken by profit motive: W3W won't release their database of words, locking you into their private, proprietary system. Numeric (WGS84) GPS coordinates are free, easily understood and simple to convey. It's not an upgrade if any one of those three criteria must be sacrificed to improve another.
This app is amazing! Great to find friends at night amongst beach bonfires! Lol.... But you need to add away to store history of address looked up and/or favorite addresses. ;)
I needed this app to work, its a great idea, but it failed me, epically. Ill just stick with Gmaps, its clunky but works when I really need it to. It's a shame, it had horrible reviews when I installed it, now it has way better reviews, odd that.
Disappointing & useless! I couldn't get the blue dot & red locator to work together on my position. What are they even for? Is the user supposed to _guess_ how to use your app? Numbers are _much_ better since I could get at least an approximation. Your system requires the fiction of an _exact_ position or you have nothing at all! Even I thought it a good idea until I tried to use it. UNINSTALL!!
What3Words is a brilliant idea - to come up with a simple, easy way to uniquely address every room-sized area on the planet. If it catches on, as it should, it will make a great way to direct people to a specific location
Now supports searching for 3 word addresses in the form "///index.home.raft".
