Even though we make a lot of jokes, all medical or clinical information provided through Pregnant AF is serious and reviewed regularly. Guidelines, recommendations, or any other information comes from three main sources: American College of Nurse Midwives (ACNM), American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG), and Varney’s Midwifery (6th Edition). PregnantAF also uses the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and Centers for Disease Control (CDC) as the sources of any specific studies referenced. Any time a source is referenced, a link or citation to the source is provided at the bottom of each app page.


Medical and clinical information are delivered in a funny, easy-to-read way to help you to have informed conversations with your midwife or doctor throughout your pregnancy. It is intended as a guide, rather than as advice, and you should always contact your provider with any questions or issues you’re having.

As a post partum nurse for 27 years this app is perfect !! Every Mommy to be and new Mommy should have this app. It's real, honest and down right funny. It gives such great advice with a twist of humor but practicality. We have all been there and have had these thoughts and moments, great to not be alone. Everyone should have this app at their fingertips from the beginning, the middle and after you experience the best miracle of your life !!!!

I've never been pregnant, but if i ever was this app would have helped me get through those 10months! Real and honest. It takes evidenced based jagon and boils it down to normal conversation (something you dont always get in the doctors office). A great additon to your pool of resources. Credibility Check: I'm an OB-GYN doc.

Where was this app 14 years ago? I seriously could have used this then when I was pregnant with my son! I've had this for 3 months now and I open it every day just for the quotes and to see how big my baby was back when I was pregnant. I seriously miss those days. Love love love this hilarious app!
