All government information it displays comes from the official sources listed below, which remain authoritative.

SPV is an independent mobile client for the Western Cape Department of Health and Wellness's Single Patient Viewer — the provincial system that brings one patient's health record together from every facility that has treated them. It displays that record; it does not produce, alter or endorse it.

It is built for clinicians who already have their own SPV access and need that record at the bedside rather than at a desktop.

WHAT IT SHOWS
• Timeline — every visit, laboratory result, dispensed medicine, radiology request and inferred episode on one thread, grouped by month and filterable by category.
• Labs — results grouped by analyte with a trend for each, and the normal band drawn behind it. Results are flagged against South African public-sector adult reference intervals published by the NHLS (https://www.nhls.ac.za); an analyte outside that table is shown unflagged rather than judged against a range that was never meant for it.
• Vitals and NEWS2 — vital signs parsed from the observation stream, with a National Early Warning Score that shows its working: every parameter, its value and its contribution. A missing or stale parameter makes the score a labelled lower bound rather than a complete one.
• Overview — episodes, upcoming appointments and recent visits at a glance.
• Medicines — dispensing and prescribing history across facilities.
• Imaging — province-wide radiology requests, including the referring clinician's indication.
• Integrated view — the desktop pivot transposed for a phone: pick a visit, see everything recorded that day.
• Admin — contact numbers, addresses, next of kin and folder history.
• Copy as JSON — the whole record, or just the tab you are on.

HOW IT WORKS
Sign-in is Microsoft Entra, exactly as on the desktop, using the clinician's own departmental credentials. The app holds no credentials of its own and stores its session in encrypted device storage.

IMPORTANT
• Access is limited to staff with their own existing SPV credentials on the Western Cape provincial network. The app is unusable without them and grants no access the user does not already hold.
• Reference ranges and NEWS2 are decision support only. The issuing laboratory's report and your own clinical judgement remain the source of truth.
• SPV holds patient-identifiable information. Use it under your facility's information-governance rules.
• WiZmed (Pty) Ltd is solely responsible for this app. Queries should go to the developer, not to any government department.

What’s new

• Store reviewers can now open the sample-data demonstration directly from the signed-out screen, instead of a hidden gesture.
• The sample record set now shows its folder numbers on the lookup screen.
