Works only with IP cameras and NVRs that give a local RTSP stream on your home network. Cameras that can only be watched through their maker's cloud app will not work.
Lanwall shows the live RTSP streams of IP cameras and NVRs on your local network (the same router or Wi-Fi as your TV) as a grid on Android TV. RTSP must be enabled on the camera and the video must be H.264; H.265 also plays on TVs that have a hardware H.265 decoder. There is no recording, no motion detection, no notifications and no viewing from outside your home network. The wall plays only while the app is open.
BEFORE YOU BUY
• If your camera or NVR has no "RTSP" option in its settings, Lanwall cannot open it.
• Not supported: cameras that can only be viewed through their maker's cloud app and offer no local RTSP stream, and cameras that send only MJPEG video.
THE WALL
• Up to 16 cameras on one wall; the grid arranges itself for the number of cameras.
• As many tiles play live as your TV can decode at once. The others show a still picture that is refreshed in turn, with its age shown on the tile. On TVs that can decode only one or two videos at a time, every tile is a still picture.
• Tiles play the camera's sub stream if you enter one; full screen plays the main stream.
• OK for full screen, Left and Right to switch cameras, Back to return to the wall.
• Optional HTTP JPEG snapshot address: still tiles then load their picture without using a video decoder.
• If a camera drops out, its tile says so and Lanwall keeps trying to reconnect. A rejected password is never retried on its own.
• The screen stays on while the wall is showing, and the labels move by a few pixels every few minutes to reduce burn-in on OLED screens.
ADDING CAMERAS
• "Add from phone": scan the code on the TV with a phone on the same network and fill in the camera in the phone's browser instead of typing long addresses with the remote. The page works only while that screen is open on the TV. What you type there travels over your home network without HTTPS, so use it only on a network you trust.
• "Test connection" shows the most common reasons a camera does not connect: camera not reachable, port closed, wrong user name or password, wrong address, unsupported video format.
• Ready-made address templates for Dahua, Reolink, TP-Link Tapo, Amcrest, Axis and other brands (RTSP must be enabled on the camera). Brand names are used only to describe compatibility; Lanwall is not affiliated with or endorsed by these companies. All trademarks belong to their owners.
• Templates fill in only the address format; the app has no list of default passwords.
• Every screen works with the remote's arrow keys and OK.
PRIVACY
• No ads, no analytics, no account, no subscription, no in-app purchases.
• Lanwall connects only to the cameras you add. Video is shown on your TV and is never recorded, uploaded or sent to us.
• Camera passwords are stored encrypted on the TV and are left out of backups.
• No camera, microphone or location permission.
REQUIREMENTS
• Android TV with Android 7.0 or later.
• Cameras or NVRs on the same local network as the TV, with RTSP enabled.
