I'm still downloading my first magazine purchase to my device and I felt compelled to go ahead and review Zinio because it's been such a frustrating experience. Not only is the app incredibly jumpy and non-responsive when browsing magazine content (this, on a quad-core tablet w/ 1GB memory) but trying to buy a title is an exercise in futility. After selecting a title you go to a spartan credit card info/PayPal page, but it doesn't tell you which cards they accept. I had to put the number and name info in before it could tell me my card wasn't supported. You should know that as soon as the first two digits are entered, duh! PayPal integration is barely better, as all the information fields appear to be grayed out when they're really not. It took it a good six minutes to go from pressing the PP button to being taken to the info page. Shameful. This is my first — and most likely last — magazine purchase from Zinio, if this is the best they can do!
Zinio devs. Please give us a BULK DELETE feature. Right now to get rid of a TON of old issues we have to delete them ONE BY ONE. Do you know how painful a procedure this is?? Take a hint from the default Android photo gallery. It has a SELECT ALL function! Hope you'll fix this. Apart from that its a great app.
Useful, but needs improvement I've used Zinio for a while. The big plus is that I can read my mags on different platforms. There are still some outstanding issues with it, such as the lack of saving my library to another location - or being able to choose, say, cloud storage. A recent annoyance is not being able to see a purchased magazine on my Android, even though it is listed on my Windows platform. Good selection of reading matter, though.
Used to be good This app used to work well for magazines. Lately it does not work so well. Cannot restore archived magazines. I have had to contact them several times with issues of magazines being removed and not able to restore them myself.
Not too bad but.. The magazines should be able to be stored on remobable storage.. others manage it with licenced music so why not Zinio with licenced magazines.?!?.. The system of removing issues from your device is 'clunky' to say the least. Users should be able to manage thier own device list; the need to contact customer services is plain silly. Visually brilliant. Better prices than Google & a reasonably broad selection.
Terrible Storefront The search function is poor at best. Going back takes you to the beginning of the list, not where you left off. Refreshing your library is not possible. While relatively stable and reading what you've managed to get downloaded is great, this app is an exercise in frustration and was not well thought through our executed. Barely usable.
Improved search and user settings.
