Poor instructions as to document requirements (residence permit not allowed but no word of that until it's already too late to change / no editing ability, either!), and one of the 3 agents was really unhelpful, sent me away instead of recording the data directly (as the next colleague was nice enough to do). Very difficult to go through multiple contortions to show my document from all angles.

I changed my one star to 3. I finally got my US passport accepted after many attempts. This app did not accept California Driver's License Real ID. Also difficult to scan US Passport that was issued 2016. But, finally did work. No idea why. I did notice that there was a July 9 update popping up. Maybe that helped. Anyway, it is hard to hold a larger smartphone in one hand, the document in the other, trying to hit the record button and trying to find a spot where the passport doesn't appear glary

Not helpful at all. I've tried a dozen times to get it to recognize US passport (issued in 2021) holograms using different lighting, but it just doesn't work. It didn't work last year, and didn't work this year. Each time you retry, you have to start over from the beginning and do all of the steps again, even if previously the rest of your application was accepted. Back to paper and postal service. I'm uninstalling this useless app. A waste of storage space! So frustrating.
