Important Information:
Currently, Taxfix focuses on simple tax cases. The following groups or cases are not yet supported:
Self-employed individuals, freelancers, and tradespeople, including the taxable operation of a photovoltaic system
Pensions as a civil servant (pension) or for other reasons of obligation, e.g. sales transaction
Income from letting and leasing for renting at a reduced price or if VAT accrues, e.g. in case of short-term rentals
Support for adult relatives through maintenance payments
Income from agriculture or forestry.
Special payments to members of parliament.
Year-round residence abroad (limited tax liability)
Residences in two countries at the same time
Foreign income during the stay in Germany only with restrictions (except: Capital gains, subsequent wages for previous activities abroad and V+V/L+F from EU/EEA are supported)
Tax returns involving inheritance or gifts.

Ratings and reviews

So so - somewhat easy, just like for other software or apps, though the Lohnsteuer scan didn't work well. No real explanations so I had to Google to not guess. Overall, not very transparent and I had to search for the actual return. App made a mistake on the return (applied deductible for married couples instead of single, though I entered it correctly). If you speak German, there are better apps that are more clear and easier to use. The customer service is courteous and helpful though.

Horrendous estimate. I completed my tax return showing I would receive an estimated 80€ and received a letter from the tax office to pay back 20 times that amount. Something is wrong with this app, stay away from it! Edit: they contacted me and discovered their app made a mistake and ignored some extra income I submitted. They refunded the fee, but I wonder how often real users help them fix their critical bugs for free...

Absolutely Amazing App!! No more accountants for a simple tax filling job. All in English. No problems. The first time is the difficult but easy...part. In 30 minutes we finished and in 15 days we got our refund back. Next time it will be more easy because we will not have to put all our data again!! Thnks gyus!!
