Absolutely terrible bank. I got told that monese was a great bank to help make everything easy when first moving to the UK. My experience has been totally the opposite. I initially attempted to transfer money from my overseas account to my monese account, however I was told by monese that the payment could not be accepted as it was a CHAPs payment (all other banks accept CHAPs ). Monese proceeded to hold onto my money for 7 days while they were attempting to transfer it back to the sender. After managing to transfer money into the account via cash deposit I tried to get started on a phone Sim card plan with Three. I was told by the people at Three that monese was the one bank that they couldn't accept as Monese does not recognize direct debits by Three.
Worst bank ever . they closed my brothers in law account and with it also my systers in law account and my wifes account and my mother account plus they closed the account to my friends living next door because we are linked somehow and someone did something wrong. Now they have in their pockets over 5000 pounds and refusing to pay the money to people. We spoke countless time with customer support but they dont give a penny about it. So because of that we lost our house , our car insurance has been canceled and so on. We will start making a formal complain to the authorities because this is unacceptable. Good luck to everyone using monese but open a proper uk account as soon as you can.
Just tried the monese,I heard from friend they love it, I received the card very fast thanks monese team.dont know what other people saying about customer service ,but I'm happy appreciate ,hope they staying loyal with customers. If customers are happy .Monese team should be happy and grateful having loads of customers around the world. Card and app are brilliant.very fast . Keep up Monese Team great job.👍
