About this app

This App provides a widget, that can display the time with words. The widget will highlight the corresponding chars that form the time: "it is twentyfive to ten".

You can change the font size and the colors in the settings (including transparency) - you get an app in the laucher to display these settings.

Currently there are three widget sizes (2x2, 3x3, 4x4), but you may resize the widget using your launcher as well. If you add more than one widget on the homescreen, all will share the same settings )(e.g. colors).

Additionally you can use the word clock as daydream service. You need to select "Word Clock Widget" in your daydream list in the settings app.

NOTICE: this App provides a widget that has to be added to your homescreen. Please refer to your launchers documentation how to add widgets.

Excellent design and very nice looking clock especially when adjusted to make the background transparent. Highly recommended. Just a minor thing. Thanks for adding the option to remove 'it is' in the settings. Works great, but just wondered why it only works for English.... In German, 'es ist' still appears when the option to remove is set to off and the same in Dutch.

This should be fixed in current 1.0.18 release

Great app, does just what I wanted. However, I'd like the transition time from (for example) "ten to" to "five to" to occur at 7 and a half minutes to the hour (and so on for every five-minute transition). So each five minute statement would apply to the NEAREST actual time rather than the MOST RECENT actual time. Maybe this could be an option. Hope this makes sense!

Nice idea, might be in next version of the app (as an option, so that you can choose behaviour)

Now working thank you Doesn't work. Takes you into a set up page and that's it. No 'continue' option and more importantly no clock. Pointless Have seen the developer reply and have emailed. To date no reply. Have been told I need to add the app to my home screen. Well doh. After having a touchscreen phone from the get go think I know how to add an app. In fact android 13 very kindly does it automatically. Never had this issue with the countless other apps I've downloaded over the years...

You only saw the configuration app. The clock needs to be added as a widget to your home screen. There are some tutorials for that based on your phone/launcher. If you are not sure how to add a widget, please try a google search with your phone or launcher. Update: Email was in my Spam, I sent detailed instructions back. Hope it helps.

What's new

Landscape mode support - due to changes, you might need to reset your font-size to 100%, otherwise the widget might display text too large.
