Get an extra layer of security for ANZ Internet Banking with the ANZ Shield app.

ANZ Shield is an authentication app that generates a one-time passcode known as a “Shield Code”, which helps ANZ confirm that the requests being made for your accounts are genuine.
If you’re using ANZ Internet Banking or Internet Banking for Business you may be asked to provide a Shield code to authenticate payments and other activities.
 
Why do you need ANZ Shield?
 
Faster and secure access to high-value payments
• For Business customers, ANZ Shield is quick and easy to register so that you can get on with the things that matter. No more waiting for a security device to be issued to you in the mail.
• For personal banking customers, registering for ANZ Shield gives you quick access to higher payment limits. No need to visit a branch to take care of that payment. That’s handy.

Convenience without compromising your security
• In the past you may have used an SMS one-time passcode or an ANZ security device to authenticate. Now you can easily complete your ANZ Internet Banking activities with your phone and the ANZ Shield App.
• Access the ANZ Shield app wherever you are – even if you’re travelling overseas. It works offline, when you might not have mobile network coverage or internet connectivity.
 
It’s free – no fees involved
 
• ANZ Shield is a free app. Once the app has been installed and registered on the device, data usage is not required to generate a Shield Code.

This app has worked for many years, and today it is not working. keep crashing. I couldn't transfer money via internet banking. Samsung Galaxy S26. Can someone please fix it immediately?

As numerous other reviewers have mentioned, if I leave the app open, then it locks up my Android phone completely. No, I don't want to call some phone number and waste my time. Asking users to call and report is a very lazy response. You should be able to gather enough telemetry from the app to diagnose this issue. Edit: As expected, I received the standard copy paste response asking me to call for "further assistance". Get your act together ANZ.

Well on opening Shield after not using it for a few months, it wants a sync code from my online banking, which does not offer that option in the shield hub... So I try to deregister Shield so at least I can do something, and it wants a code from Shield, which wants a sync code, from online banking which wants a code from Shield. I am sure you get the idea, basically the technology is beyond hopeless. If I could give it zero stars I would. I've already started the process to move to another bank

Hello Mark In this situation, for security reasons, customers are required to contact the contact center so Shield access can be safely reset or re-registered
