I wrote this review "Too much kiddy bling. Too much social. Too many ads! Try again!" from the Play Store, accidentally thinking I was writing about the horrific new Scrabble app itself, not the Scrabble Word Checker, which I love and use every few days with my family. At the time I couldn't see how to delete, let alone change it - apols. Stars = increased!

Almost uninstalled this since the dictionary didn't match my Hasbro (U.S.) Scrabble Players' Dictionary. Then learned there are 2 official word lists (Int'l & US/Canada) and the app settings let you choose. Perfect, no frills app. Ads disabled by default with option to turn them on to support the app. I like the app so much I turned on ads and wrote this review to support the maker. Great work! We use this every time we play Scrabble.

Perfect. Simple to use, simple Yes/No answer as to a word's validity, and has links to more detailed explanation. Another reviewer notes that it's so good that they turned on adverts in order to support the developer; I've done the same, and the adverts really don't intrude. A pleasure to use.
