About Us
We're Dale and Carrie Spoonemore, the creators of āFrom Seed to Spoon.ā We decided in spring of 2015 that we wanted to try growing food for our family of 6. We started with a typical Oklahoma Bermuda grass lawn, and over the course of two years, we converted it into an urban backyard food farm. We spent nearly all of our free time over the course of those two years reading books, attending classes, and watching YouTube videos to learn all we could about gardening and growing food, and now our FREE mobile app combines everything we've learned into one easy to use app!
We remember how lost and overwhelmed we felt when we first started, and now we want to share what weāve learned in hopes of helping others grow food for themselves as well! Growing your own food doesn't have to be difficult and we're here to help you grow food efficiently, economically, and sustainably!

It was great before. WAS. The free version before recent updates was great. Now, you can only put 3 plantsā½ Are you KIDDING me? I don't mind ads. I don't mind having to pay for certain upgrades. I get it! You're a business and need to make money, but the cost of the app month to month or yearly is WAY too expensive. All of the changes, no lower tier available, and the hefty price of a GIANT turnoff. I'll be looking for a more affordable app, or just figuring it out on my own.

It was still a work in progress before the latest update and paid feature requirement. I only kept using it with the hope that continual improvements would make it great, however with now requiring a monthly subscription or a very steep one-time cost for an app I wasn't sold on to begin with, I'm ready to look for a better alternative.

UPDATE: I have returned to 5 stars... The app creator quickly responded and fixed the issue. I will say, always keep paper backups on any app like this just in case. Maybe a save option can be added to save to phone or cloud. 5 down to 3 I lost all the info on one of my gardens on the most recent update. I was a paid subscriber, but you lost me when I lost valuable information on my seedlings. Hope you get it figured out because it was a great app.
