About this app

Yuka scans food, beauty & personal care products to decipher their ingredients and evaluate their impact on your health.

In a world of incomprehensible labels, Yuka provides clarity in one quick scan so you can make clear-sighted purchases.

Yuka uses a simple color code to inform you of the product's impact on your health: excellent, good, mediocre, or poor. You can access a detailed info page for each product, to help you understand its grade.

Every product is evaluated according to 3 objective criteria: nutritional value, additives, and the organic dimension of the product.

The scoring method relies on analyzing all of the product's ingredients. Every ingredient is assigned a level of risk, based on current scientific research.

For any product with a negative grade, Yuka will recommend in total independence a similar product that's better for your health as an alternative.

Yuka is a 100% independent application. This means that product evaluations and recommendations are completely objective: no brand or manufacturer can influence them in one way or another. In addition, the application does not advertise. Find out more about our funding on our website.

This app is incredible...not only does it give you an overall score for each product, but it also breaks down each ingredient, what it is & level of risk to health, and then gives an explanation of ingredients that pose a risk-while citing it's sources! In addition, it will give you recommendations for swaps on items that have a poor rating, and break down the ingredients in those and save a list of everything you've scanned. My mind is blown. I've scanned my whole bathroom 😂

Works fast. Nice and simple UI. The app is only really good for checking additives. It doesn't make everything I've done research into and know is bad. Their ratings follow a one-size-fits-all model which isn't really accurate as everyone has different needs in their diet. Overall though, it serves as a good starting point for a healthier life.

Thank you for your feedback! We're glad you find Yuka's UI user-friendly. Our rating method indeed follows the Nutriscore guidelines and isn't tailored to individual dietary needs at this stage. We aim to provide a general guide to healthier choices, and we appreciate your understanding that our ratings do not follow a one-size-fits-all model.

This app has made such a huge change in the foods we eat and products we use. I scan everything. It is so convenient how it breaks down what exactly is in the product, if it has risky additives, and the general nutritional values. I use the premium version and it is awesome how I can search any product without scanning, and it also recommends the healthier product and where I can get it. I don't shop without using it. I recommend this app to everyone.
