Simple UPnP Server turns your phone or tablet into a media server for your home network — no cloud, no account, no ads.
▶ Media server
Designed to connect with as many DLNA-compatible devices as possible. TVs, game consoles and players (VLC, Kodi, PlayStation…) on the same Wi-Fi discover it automatically and browse and play your shared folders and on-device media (photos, music, video) directly, with seeking. Set a device name shown to clients, and optionally limit it to chosen Wi-Fi networks (e.g. only at home).
▶ Labels
Tag your media and browse it by label on your TV. Create smart labels just by typing a plain search — for example "2024 videos trip -mp4" — matching filename words, year or date range, media type and extension, with a live preview as you type. Or hand-pick files. Each label becomes a virtual folder that gathers matching files wherever they are stored, sortable by name, date or size, and you can switch any label on or off.
▶ Media diagnostics
The Media tab shows what clients have actually fetched, with a thumbnail and badges for resolution, video/audio codec and the requesting player — handy for working out why a particular file won't play.
▶ Private by design
The server runs on Wi-Fi only and is never exposed over mobile data. The app collects nothing, contains no ads or trackers, and never sends your data off the device.
▶ Free version & Plus
The free version shares one source (a folder or the device's media) and up to 50 each of images, audio and video. A one-time Plus purchase removes these limits. Labels are always unrestricted.
