About this app

LibrePods allows Apple's exclusive AirPods features to be used on non-Apple devices. Get access to noise control modes, adaptive transparency, ear detection, battery status, conversational awareness, head gestures, and more - all the premium features you paid for but Apple locked to their ecosystem.

Key features:

- Noise Control Modes: Easily switch between noise control modes right from the app, Quick Settings or widget, without having to reach out to your AirPods to long press
- Ear Detection: Controls your media automatically when you put your AirPods in or take them out
- Battery Status: Accurate battery levels unlike most other apps that report to the nearest 10%
- Head Gestures: Answer calls just by nodding your head
- Conversational Awareness: Volume automatically lowers when you speak
- Rename your AirPods
- Customize long-press actions
- And many more settings
Use AirPods outside Apple's ecosystem.

While it is true that this does open up features that were not available in my Pixel, what it also does is remove any setup you may have already done with a different apple device (such as hearing aids functionality). Just beware that it basically wipes your airpods and you start over. EDIT: "wipes" was probably a bad word. When I went back to the prior iPad, it went through the initial handshake again as if new, but the hearing aids readings were there and could be applied again

Could you please email me from the app describing what you mean by "initial handshake again as if new"? This should be happening, and I definitely wouldn't want this to happening again to other users.

The app works great with airpods 4 anc, with possibility to change the anc in app. I loved the in-ear detection and pause as well - it makes life much easier when using airpods on android!

works well most of the time. I noticed the connection goes crazy (with this app only) if I'm entering the Bluetooth car (no android auto, just the connection to the Bluetooth media) and I'm still connected to the airpods. the phone will switch to the car (normal), and the airpods become unusable forever. next time I have to reset them and reconnect them to the phone from scratch. one feature that I would like to have is hey Google detection to avoid using the phone all together.

I have not tested the app with a car, or any other audio output device. I understand that it's only with this app, however the app should not interfere with the audio settings at all. I will look into this further! The Hey Google detection unfortunately cannot be added to AirPods as it would require using the microphone, causing high battery usage.
