Maps Ruler is a practical map distance calculator, area calculator and land measurement tool. Tap points or draw with your finger to measure routes, paths, fields, farms, plots, properties and any custom shape visible on the map.

Measure distance, calculate area and perimeter, trace boundaries, and save your work for later. Maps Ruler has helped users make map-based measurements since 2009, with simple touch controls for land and property planning, outdoor activities and preliminary project estimates.

HOW IT WORKS

Select Distance or Area mode. Tap at least two points to measure distance or three points to calculate area. For faster measurements, draw continuously with your finger to trace a route, property line or boundary.

GPS is optional and is only used to show your current location. You can measure any place visible on the map without being physically there, making it easy to check land, routes or site work before you arrive.

Maps Ruler is designed for practical map-based measurements and preliminary estimates. Results can vary depending on map imagery and data, zoom level, GPS signal and point placement. For legal boundaries or professional surveying, use certified survey data and equipment.

Good basic distance app. I can plot out the course I just completed to measure the distance I had walked. Another good use is to plot out a course before arriving at a location so I can plan a specific distance I wish to walk. Pushing the "target" icon allows me to see where I am on the plotted course. I can even Save and Load maps for later use. This is just what I needed.

Great app. I use to map out runs, especially in new places I visit.
