About this app

***** Important Update for Magic Cinema ViewFinder app ******

1. WE HAVE REWORKED THE APP. We were aware that older Android updates have caused issues with saving still images in the app. We are sorry and we want you to know – this is fixed now.
We are rebuilding the app from the ground up to ensure full compatibility with the latest Android versions.

2. TEST THE NEW APP. The new app has less features than it used to have, but we are working to bring them back.

We especially need your confirmation that image capture is working reliably on your device. If saving photos works for you now, please let us know in a review or feedback — it helps us enormously.

3. WHAT FEATURES NEXT? The app currently includes live camera preview, frame guides, and image capture. Many more features are on the way. If there is a feature from the current version that you rely on and would like to see prioritized, please tell us in your feedback. Your input directly shapes what we build next.

Thank you for your patience and loyalty.

==============================

Magic ViewFinder presents you a precise framing preview for the real camera/lens combination you will be shooting with, right where you stand with your phone/tablet. It simulates the framing of any Blackmagic camera or lens and helps thousands of professionals in filmmaking or photography at the preproduction.

PLEASE READ: this app does not turn your smartphone into an external monitor, but operates as a stand-alone directors viewfinder.

If you have any issues please email us for a quick support: dev@kadru.net

The app is a digital director's viewfinder -- it helps you see the exact field of view for your future shot. Select the camera from the menu and rotate the wheel to select the focal length of the lens.

With the latest update, users can now access images taken with the app. HOWEVER, even with "low resolution" option disabled in settings, the more zoomed in the image, the worse not only is the image itself (since the app cannot switch between different lenses) but ALSO the information at the top of the image (focal length etc) is unreadable. Changing from 1 star to 3 stars because of this. The dev needs to fix all these bugs to justify the purchase price.

I want to like this app. It seems easy to use and change settings. Could be great for checking focal lengths with and without a speed booster . The big problem I'm running into is; I'll take a picture with the app so I can compare different options, but nothing happens. "Processing" just shows up on the screen and never goes away. Photos never show up in my camera roll. I let it sit for like 5 minutes, still processing, still no photos. So that's a deal breaker for me.

Hi there, yes this is a known issue with the new Android OS. We are working to fix this, but it takes time. Especially considering that we are doing this in Kyiv, Ukraine, under constant missile and air drones attacks on our civilian infrastructure. Thanks for your patience

Total joke except for BM owners. If your camera is a BlackMagic then fine, it otherwise no go. You can't even choose a generic FF sensor.

What’s new

Still image saving is now fully fixed. On top of that, we've packed in a new set of tools:

• Customizable focal length barrel with index marks
• Full in-device camera control: exposure, focus, flash, white balance
• Tap-to-focus with visual feedback

Thank you for your support — more features are on the way!
