About this app

The Ringing Runner application is intended for all those who love to run but are not always in a position to choose the ideal or the most picturesque running trail. It is inevitable for people who run in the streets, parks, sports centers and similar crowded places where other people always seem to be in your way. If you are passionate about running, this App is for you!

The basic functionality of this application is alerting other people when you approach them while running. If you carry your smartphone in your armband, a simple raise of your hand will make your smartphone produce a sound alerting people of your arrival. You don’t need to hold the smartphone in your hand, touch the screen, press buttons or unlock your phone. Ringing Runner will continue to run with your screen locked, your smartphone in the sleep mode or even if you are listening to your favorite songs through your headset.

This application is easy to use:
1. Press "START" before you start running
2. Raise your hand to ring (or make some other sound)
3. Press "STOP" after you are done with running

It is as simple as it gets!

If you want to add more of your personal flavor to the application, go to preferences and choose some other sound instead of the predefined bicycle bell sound, pick a different animated character, set the activation angle, change the sensor sensitivity etc.

For a smooth running of this application, your smartphone will need to support the accelerometer and magnetic field sensors. If you choose to use it while listening to the music or the radio through the wired or Bluetooth headset, a quality speakerphone is a must. There are no rules, you simply have to try these features on your smartphone. With some devices the speakerphone is even louder than the regular handset speaker.

Required permissions:
- Network communication – used to download ad info from Google's own ad provider AdMob
- Hardware controls – for changing audio settings, i.e. to gain focus and use the speakerphone
- System tools – prevent your smartphone from entering the sleep mode (only if you explicitly select this option)

Have a nice run!
