I have used this app about a dozen times at this point and understand how it's supposed to work. Today I paid for parking with the app, clicked "Start Session" and received the on-screen receipt of showing a total payment of $3.08 (1 hour of parking plus 8 cents transaction fee.) 45 minutes later I went back to my car and found a ticket. I looked at the app and it had no record of my parking session, I never received email confirmation and I so far nothing has shown up on my Visa card. Now I have to pay a $40 ticket for parking that I tried to pay for in good faith. I shouldn't have to pay this ticket but I have no proof to back me up.
Like many have said before, do not trust this app. I paid via this app and still got a ticket, when I contested the ticket with the confermation emails from the app saying I paid it got upheld. This app should be held liable for those of us who were doing the right thing and are being penalized and paying for a faulty tool. Next time I need to park I'll be looking for a spot that isn't parkmobile affiliated no matter how far I have to walk and will be encouraging everyone I know to do the same. In the very least it will be better for my health.
Towed $140 to get out of impound. A $98 ticket in addition to that. And I had to miss work tonight. All because the parking app happily took my payment and let me go on my way when the manual paystation would have notified me there was no parking there do to an event. I am livid.
I paid via the GoMobile app and the city issued me a parking ticket anyway. City of PGH government is a joke! Parking ticket has been contested. I have clear evidence showing that the payment was processed and a copy of my bank statement showing that the payment was deducted. What good is the app if the useless meter attendant issues a ticket anyway? UPDATE: 8/5/16...ticket was contested and upheld by the city. PGH government corrupt, stay away.
Black and Blue My only complaint thus far is the apps use of dark blue and a similar black to differentiate on and off in the notifications portion of the app. Seems like an oversight not to have more different colors.
Crap app Was going to Pittsburgh. Scheduled for parking for 1:30. When I pressed to confirm, it changed time to now, 11:00. It would not let me change the time or cancel or reschedule. When we got to Pittsburgh, I looked up the zone in the app to see where to park and it kept giving me a map of New Zealand. Never did find it. Ended up parking in a garage for $8. Funny, this crap app charged me $28 to park on the street. I emailed them to complain, they took a week to reply. Then another week,
