About this app

With the BankID app you can identify yourself, confirm payments and sign documents.

The app meets official security requirements and can be used to:
- Log in to public services and banks
- Sign binding documents electronically
- Confirm online payments

Instead of using the one-time password from your code device or confirm with BankID on mobile, you rather approve requests directly in the app. The BankID-app is used together with your social security number and personal password.

To get started you need to have a BankID certificate issued by a bank. At the moment only people with BankID from certain banks can activate the BankID app*. Check where your BankID is issued at bankid.no/privat.

Ratings and reviews

The best solution you had for secure identification was bankid på mobil, which only required phone signal to work. No qr codes, no WiFi, no hassle. It. Just. (Still!) Works. From a user perspective you should have improved security on that instead of throwing it away. The app now expecting you to use facial recognition etc and forcing you through the Chrome browser (what happened to standards compliance, allowing us to use decent browsers?) has made logging in cumbersome and frustrating.

Slower and harder to use than already existing solution, not very user-friendly and I struggle to see how it's any safer. The app also frequently struggles with connection.

It works, bit silly how many times you have to click to confirm you really want to log in. I guess that is part of the security. nice this id within the app. Only for norwegians. Of course people living in Norway with european passports are not included cause..why would you. especially this group is greatly served by this option. So of course we get excluded. Seriously disappointed!

In this version, we have adjusted some texts here and there, and otherwise made some invisible changes to the app machinery.
