Not fully understood Sunday night 24 July between 6 and 7pm in Hamilton NZ. Lightning seen, thunder very close. Strikes shown on Blitzortung live maps via Chrome but nothing shown on app except in Nelson hundreds of kms away. May have settings wrong as not very tech savvy. Needs default settings for dummies. Sit watching your live maps on 24" desktop screen absolutely entranced. Strike near Borneo registered in NZ. Wow.
Doesn't pick up all strikes. Storm can be overhead or nearby (5-10miles) and it shows the closest strike 30 miles or more away. Can see the strikes, but never show on the map??? (My strike count is set to 1) we had thunderstorms 2 mornings ago, closest it said was 20 miles, but it was directly overhead, lightning flash and thunder in 2 seconds, none showed closer than 20 miles.
Works half the time. There's thunderstorms right now in western Ireland. One to our north and one to our south. The one to our north is over the sea and is showing on the app, but the one to our south is over land and isn't showing at all. The website seems to show all the lightning and a different app I used showed all the lightning.
5 stars until recent update that has rendered it useless. Update: uninstalled and reinstalled a few times. App freezes, turns to a black screen, sometimes even freezes phone for a short time. Phone is Lg G4 running Marshmallow.
Fabulous Application Does everything a person needs for tracking severe weather. And NO advertisements either.
It's quite a bit off. My neighborhood is currently incurring multiple lightning strikes and this shows them as being 25km away, lol the Fire Dept, my neighbors and I disagree.
