About this app

Privacy Friendly Pain Diary can help you track pain. It allows you to make daily diary entries recording your condition and the intensity, location, nature and time of the pain you feel, as well as the medication you take and additional notes. Records of your pain can help health professionals gain an insight into the pain you are experiencing.

The main view of the app is a calendar. A new diary entry can be added and existing diary entries can be viewed by selecting a day in this calendar. Diary entries can be exported to PDF. You have to specify a period of time for which the entries are to be exported. You also have the option to share that PDF.

Privacy Friendly Pain Diary has a daily reminder function. If enabled, it displays a notification reminding you to make a diary entry if you have not made one yet. You can set the time at which you want to be reminded in the settings.

How does Privacy Friendly Pain Diary differ from other similar apps?
1) Minimal permissions
Privacy Friendly Pain Diary requires write access to your device’s storage if you wish to
export your diary entries to PDF. All other features do not require any permissions.

2) Protection of privacy
User data is not recorded, nor sent to any third party. The data you enter is only locally
stored on your device.

3) No advertisements or tracking mechanisms
Privacy Friendly Pain Diary distinguishes itself from many other applications in the way that it does not include any advertisements or tracking mechanisms. Advertisements can shorten battery life or consume mobile data, while tracking mechanisms can compromise privacy.

Privacy Friendly Pain Diary belongs to the group of Privacy Friendly Apps developed by the SECUSO research group at Karlsruhe Institute of Technology. Privacy Friendly Apps are Android applications which are optimized regarding privacy. Further information can be found here: https://secuso.org/pfa.

PDF export doesn't work so it's useless for me and my therapy. Other than that great for what it is.

Die Export-Funktion der Daten sollte mit dem neusten Update v1.3.2 verfügbar sein. Sollte das Problem weiterhin auftreten kontaktieren Sie uns gerne unter pfa@secuso.org

Good app, one of the only free ones I could find. Would be better if it was made clearer which side of the person was left and right for when you're clicking on the place where you're in pain. I can't figure out which side I should be clicking for my left and right side on the option for the back of the person

It would be awesome if you could add two more features to the app. 1. Possibly to log in for example with a Google account. So, if a user logs in on another device, every record is exactly there. 2. Possibility to add more than one record for each day; with the possibility to add duration of pain with exact clock time. For example from 14:32 to 15:23; the level of pain was 4. Then the user can add more than one record with exact times. Thanks 😊 🤗

Thanks for you review and input. 1. We do not want to implement such a possibility to maintain our status as privacy friendly 2. You can track the progress here: https://github.com/SecUSo/privacy-friendly-pain-diary/issues/21 3. You can input additional data to each entry where you can specify the time and duration
