About this app

Signal is a messaging app with privacy at its core. It is free and easy to use, with strong end-to-end encryption that keeps your communication completely private.

• Send texts, voice messages, photos, videos, stickers, GIFs, and files for free. Signal uses your phone’s data connection, so you avoid SMS and MMS fees.

• Call your friends with crystal-clear encrypted voice and video calls. Group calls supported for up to 40 people.

• Stay connected with group chats up to 1,000 people. Control who can post and manage group members with admin permission settings.

• Share image, text, and video Stories that disappear after 24 hours. Privacy settings keep you in charge of exactly who can see each Story.

• Signal is built for your privacy. We know nothing about you or who you’re talking to. Our open source Signal Protocol means that we can’t read your messages or listen to your calls. Neither can anyone else. No back doors, no data collection, no compromises.

• Signal is independent and not for profit; a different kind of tech from a different kind of organization. As a 501c3 nonprofit we are supported by your donations, not by advertisers or investors.

LOVE the privacy and security that is superior to other apps. I also am so grateful to the way there are frequent updates to the desktop product. It shows constant enhancements are being made. The app handles outgoing and incoming media just as smoothly as any other so it becomes a true mainstream option, and an awesome one..

I guess it was good. I've been using it for a few months and it's been ln a downhill. Lately the notifications don't come through especially on calls. It's delayed notifications for messages and during calls 9/10 one person's mic stops picking up and forces call restart. 50/50 that when you do call, one person's mic doesn't work sp you have to try again. Looking for alternative now, can't deal with this.

This app used to be good, but with each update there comes glitches or something is always wrong with the app lately. I receive calls from abroad. But lately since this last update.......the call button controls disappear and you can't get it back unless the call is ended. This is really annoying and it was never like this before. If you people are gonna improve and update, at least have someone who knows what they are doing. Very shít update, really!!!!!

What's new

★ Now you can react with any emoji during a Signal call. Smile even if your camera is off, share a heart if you love what you're hearing, or vote for sushi instead of pizza without saying a word. And you'll even see an animation of everyone's emojional outburst if enough people in the call react with the same emoji all at once.
★ We also added a shortcut to edit sent messages by double tapping on the message bubble. Double taps aren't just for likes, unless you really like editing typos.
