The United Through Reading App keeps military families reading together, no matter the distance. Stay connected at storytime by video recording yourself reading a storybook aloud to the special kids in your life even when military duty, deployment, training, drill weekends, or long work days keep you away.

The UTR App is free, secure, and available to active duty service members, veterans, and their families who register through Troop ID from ID.me.

Since 1989, United Through Reading has provided service members with the opportunity to share the gift of reading together even when separated by military duty at more than 200 recording locations around the world.

With the United Through Reading App, you can:

● Includes built in viewer, festive frames, and enhanced user tools.
● NOW WITH EBOOKS! Choose from our library of ebooks and video record storytime right now!
● Record, save, and upload your storytime video by registering with TroopID from ID.me.
● Record your storytime video offline and upload when on wifi.
● To record with preloaded ebooks in app or with a physical book

With the United Through Reading App, your family can:
● Watch your storytime video on demand online or download to your PC, Mac, or Android device.
● Read along with the ebook in the webviewer.

Excellent app to help me stay in touch with my daughter. I just wish there were more of the epub books. Right now there's only about 12. I would love to see a library of about 100 so I can read to her something new every night!

There's nothing here in the app. I saw the article from the VA newsletter. I downloaded the app, there's nothing to view. Three tabs that take your nowhere.

Gary, the app is a platform for creating your own content to share with your family. The first 2 tabs are for creating, and uploading your recordings. The help tab has a link to our info page. After the stories are uploaded you and your family can view them at http://www.utrapp.org. Please email appsupport@utr.org for additional assistance. Thanks

No uploads. You can only upload videos with WiFi and not data. Since I am deployed I have no wifi but I do have data.

Sean, Thanks for the feedback. We set the app up this way because we were concerned about the long cellular data upload times causing timeouts and dropped connections. We also gave the user control over when to upload by delaying upload until a WiFi connection was available. We appreciate your input, and will consider changing this in the future.
