Why WordPress?

There are a lot of blogging services, website builders, and social networks out there. Why create your website with WordPress?

WordPress powers over a third of the web. It’s used by hobby blogs, businesses of all sizes, online stores, even the biggest news sites on the internet. Odds are that many of your favorite websites are running on WordPress.

With WordPress, you own your own content. Other social networks treat you as a commodity, and assume ownership of the content you post. But with WordPress anything you publish is yours, and you can take it with you wherever you’d like.

WordPress is an open source website creator, meaning anyone can see how it's made, and even contribute. Other services and social networks are proprietary, closed systems; you can never be sure exactly how they work or what they are doing -- and they can disappear!

Whether you need a website builder to create your website, or a simple blog maker, WordPress can help. It gives you beautiful designs, powerful features, and the freedom to build anything you want.

WordPress for Android supports self-hosted sites running WordPress 4.0 and later, and all sites at WordPress.com. Just like WordPress, WordPress for Android is open source. I'm working on a Chromebook Samsung 4 and unfortunately this is somewhat of a bust. The interface is kind of clunky, It's really slow as well - and no, it's not my internet speed or connectivity. Although there are no ads so to speak the interface is cluttered with 'pay-for-services' - It's just not really the WordPress that I'm used to. I was kind of hoping for a simple editor to post to my blog on my own domain - that would be really cool, but no - got to pay for that as well.

We'd like to look into the performance issues with speed you're mentioning. Can you send us a message from My Site > Me (your profile picture) > Help & Support > Contact Support next time you notice such trouble? We can also help clarify any questions about what's included in the free site you can make with WordPress in the app

WP App vs. WP Site through browser: it's actually better to go through a browser than it is to use the WPS app. Most often regardless of bandwidth regardless of connection it is completely impossible to work. Most posts come in either broken or unable to be accessed. The worst part about it is it is completely unusable at this time. If in the future I try this out hopefully it will change. Currently it sucks!!!

We'd like to help! Please, let us know the site you're working on and send us a message from My Site > Me (your profile picture) > Help & Support > Contact Support. That will include logs so we can get a better idea of why the app is going so slowly for you. Thank you.

I love WordPress except for 1 thing. In the last 6 months, the mobile app is extremely slow loading pages for editing. Browser pages appear instantly. I'm @ 300mbps so it's not bandwidth. I have to click 'wait' multiple times for each page I'm editing. It only does it on my phone which everything is up to date. Works fine on the laptop. Samsung Galaxy S10e Thanks for your web page help!
