Rei works nights. She sits on a rooftop parapet above a neon city, and what she is doing depends on what time it is, so a glance at your wrist tells you how far through the day you are.

Thirteen moments, drawn by hand, on her schedule rather than a generic one:

• 00:00 checking a parcel, the middle of her shift
• 02:00 a call from dispatch
• 04:00 asleep against the railing
• 06:00 awake, not happy about it
• 07:00 stretching as the sky lightens
• 09:00 both hands round a coffee
• 11:00 earphones in, watching the traffic below
• 13:00 crouched, feeding the rooftop cat
• 15:00 cross-legged with a paperback
• 17:00 up at the ledge, facing the sunset
• 19:00 leaning back, one boot swinging
• 21:00 shouldering the strap, about to go
• 22:00 noodles before the push

The sky moves with her. Twelve sky paintings around the clock cross-fade into each other, so 18:40 is genuinely the 18:40 sky and not a "dusk" preset that snaps on the hour.

An ambient mode that was designed, not dimmed. Most watch faces fade out and look broken when the screen sleeps. This one becomes a single cyan outline of Rei and the parapet on pure black, under 2% of pixels lit, so it is easy on the battery and still worth looking at.

• Battery gauge that fills as a bar, amber when low, cyan while charging
• A beacon lights the skyline when you have an unread notification
• Numerals in Ice, Neon or Amber
• Date and battery each on or off
• Subtle parallax as you turn your wrist
• Time in large light numerals, readable in direct sunlight
• Nothing animates around the clock, so it does not eat your battery

Built with Watch Face Format for Wear OS 4 and later (Wear OS 4, 5 and 6): Google Pixel Watch, Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 and newer, and other Wear OS 4+ watches. Designed for round displays.

To use it after buying: open the watch face list on your watch (press and hold the current face), scroll to Night Shift and tap it. To change the numeral colour or turn the date off, press and hold the face and tap Customise.
