No sky on this dial, and no horizon — Suzu Nagare is piloting a one-person
submersible down through a bioluminescent kelp forest, and the whole face is
water. Light comes from three places only: what's left of the surface above,
the wildlife around her, and her own handheld lamp — the one warm colour
anywhere on the dial.

Six depths across the day, sunlit teal just under the surface at five in the
morning to a near-black abyss by ten at night, and back up again overnight —
deeper zones glow more, because past the sunlit layer the wildlife is the only
light there is.

It actually moves. A jellyfish pulses through a full swimming cycle, kelp
sways, bubbles rise and fade, marine snow drifts down past the lamp — four
layers of the scene shift at slightly different speeds as you turn your wrist,
so the water has real depth to it.

Ten marks across the top pay out one by one through the hour, so you can read
how far you are into it at a glance.

Seven moments in Suzu's dive: descending at dawn, surveying the kelp,
collecting samples, watching something in the dark, sweeping her lamp through
the deep, drifting home at the end of a long night — and if you put the watch
on to charge, she turns and rises toward the light.

• A ballast cell battery gauge, ten chips that turn red when low and run a
highlight up the column while charging
• Contacts appear on sonar when you have unread notifications, more of them
the more are waiting (only the count is read, never the content)
• A tide dial that turns through the month
• Numerals in Ice, Kelp or Lamp

• A sparse always-on mode that keeps a single point of lamplight

To use it after buying: open the watch face list on your watch (press and hold the
current face), scroll to Deep Current and tap it. To change the numeral colour or
turn a readout off, press and hold the face and tap Customise.

Suzu and every element of this face are original work created for it. No
existing character, series or studio is referenced.
