About this app

About this app

Drs Dobbin & Ross’s relaxing audio app that has helped 100,000+ people.

Feel Better, Faster – with Sorted and Proven Positive Mental Training

The Sorted mental health app (formerly the Feeling good app) is used and accredited by the NHS - a mark of its effectiveness, safety and good function. The app is very easy to use, just plug in your earphones and play the audios to start feeling the positive benefits.

Discover the power of Positive Mental Training, a scientifically proven approach combining deep relaxation and goal-focused visualisation. Rooted in the latest neuroscience and Olympic sports coaching techniques, our app helps you build mental strength, resilience, and positivity – so you can thrive, not just cope.

A Unique, Upstream CBT Approach

Unlike traditional CBT that targets negative thinking, our upstream CBT (uCBT) method focuses on increasing positive emotions first, which in turn transforms thoughts and behaviours. By harnessing applied relaxation and powerful visualisations, you’ll experience meaningful, lasting change.

Our app features goal-based audio modules to help you quickly find what you need:
● Calm & Relax: Foundations to develop deep mind/body relaxation
● Improve Mood: to build resilience

● Work/Life Balance: Relax,
● Motivation & Confidence to Improve performance.
All modules draw on the renowned 12-track Positive Mental Training programme – found in full in
Recover from Depression and Relieve my anxiety.
More Modules for Your Wellbeing

How it started:
Positive Mental Training was first used within the NHS for patients with low mood, stress and depression and we soon found that it was also being used by the doctors and nurses for their own benefit too. It can help with all life stresses, including burnout and sleep problems.

The tracks in Sorted began with the 12 track Positive Mental Training audio CDs, when Dr Alastair Dobbin, a GP and Dr Sheila Ross, a ancadapted a Swedish Olympic Sports performance programme, drawn to its positive self-development focus. Since then research has demonstrated its ability to build good psychological functioning, as well as recovery from depression and anxiety. The App is used within the NHS by staff and patients, in many colleges and universities for staff and students and recommended in Public Health England ‘Every Mind Matters’ campaign, for NHS health and social care staff across Scotland.

We are working on making the Sorted mental health app as accessible as possible so everyone can use the app. Our accessibility statement:

I like guided body meditation and mindful body scan, but they completely lost me at track 3. That track relies on an ability to visualise in your mind, and being aphantasic, it's just impossible. I found I just got irritated when we were supposed to be going down stairs to some kind of room, then decorating it and adding a writing desk. That all means nothing to me, there's no room and I certainly can't decorate it. I thought I'd just skip it, but the next track used the room too, adding a TV...

Thanks for your feedback -with this visualisation track, its the feeling of safety & security in your mind & body which is most important, please focus on this & develop a link to this safe feeling through what is best for you - a physical/audio cue. Or skip both tracks and find those best for you. Please email and we can give more specific help.

Wonderful piece of work that Ive been utilising for my own personal health. It works for me and helps with sleep issues. My observations are that, 1. I would like the ability/option to run the sections within the seperate headers together so as not to be interrupted. 2. The nature sounds to be an option on its own with no commentary. Otherwise I rate it 5 overall.

I am giving this app a good go. The voices do tend to agitate me, more than relax me, the elongated words just frustrate. I know their intention, it just does not work for me. I also struggle being told to relax a area of the body, no aid, no tips, no instructions, or concepts on how to do this. If I could do this, I would not be needing help in the first place. But I guess vagueness helps a wider audience. Nice looking app, great intentions, giving it my best.

Thank you for your feedback. If you listen to Guided Body Relaxation - the 1st track in Feeling Good for Life, this guides/ instructs relaxation, by tensing and then releasing your muscles, working through your body. By doing this everyday you can effectively learn how to relax. Please email us for more guidance - hello@feelinggood.app
