About this audiobook

Season 2 of Good Omens coming soon!

“Reads like the Book of Revelation, rewritten by Monty Python.” — San Francisco Chronicle

The classic novel of angels, demons, and Armageddon from the internationally bestselling authors Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett, now a Prime original series starring Michael Sheen and David Tennant.

According to The Nice and Accurate Prophecies of Agnes Nutter, Witch (the world's only completely accurate book of prophecies, written in 1655, before she exploded), the world will end on a Saturday. Next Saturday, in fact. Just before dinner.

So the armies of Good and Evil are amassing, Atlantis is rising, frogs are falling, tempers are flaring. Everything appears to be going according to Divine Plan. Except a somewhat fussy angel and a fast-living demon—both of whom have lived amongst Earth's mortals since The Beginning and have grown rather fond of the lifestyle—are not actually looking forward to the coming Rapture.

And someone seems to have misplaced the Antichrist . . .

LOVE the concept and characters and often found myself laughing out loud. I'd say it was British satire at its best, but the numerous racial, ranging to racist, lines in the novel and affected Asian accents on Jarvis's part made a couple of exchanges frankly embarrassing to listen to. The lack of a significant pause in speaking btwn POV changes can make following frequent switches difficult as well. The message about climate change is a welcome one, however, and I'll be buying a copy secondhand.

The book was quite good but the reader's character voices were so sharp and annoying for most of the characters that I dreaded when they'd show up and it ruined parts of the book for me. His normal voice was ok and I wish he'd have just read it straight out. I haven't read the book before but I think I'd have enjoyed it much more reading than listening to this guy, which is what I'll probably do since the story was really good despite his horrible reading of it.
